Ricardo makes figurative drawings with ink, pencil, and watercolor on paper. His exploration of subject matter grapples with questions both of and about drawing, while simultaneously considering personal narrative and iconography. Through subject matter and craftsmanship, he aims to reconcile his personal history and observations on contemporary society using drawing as a tool of clarification and communication. Figurative drawing has a unique ability to communicate and his hope is to continue to understand its potential.
