Jerry Truong presents his thesis exhibition, In Vietnamese, the word biến means to be transformed and mất means to die or be lost. Biến mất is to disappear. This project explores the mystique of the ocean and its allure to those searching for freedom and transcendence. The viewer is invited to walk on the coffin/overturned boat-like structure. As they approach the reflective, translucent material, it is possible to make out a faint projection of themselves fading away.
