VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS, the nation’s premier Asian Pacific American media arts center, established the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film & Video Festival in 1983 to promote Asian and Asian Pacific American cinema. The Festival has grown from a weekend-long series into a major annual showcase presenting the best of Asian Pacific American and Asian international media. The Festival serves as a crucial launching ground for Asian Pacific American cinema through the premiere screenings of important new works as well as the development and nurturing of emerging talents via innovative programming initiatives including the VC Digital Academy and the Armed With a Camera Fellowship. More recent initiatives have included the Conference for Creative Content (C3), Project Catalyst, and the Visual Communications Film Development Fund.

They are primarily known for their YouTube channel where they create short films, sketches, music videos and vlogs for their viewership and fanbase of over 2 million subscribers, generating over 300 million views.

Their creative work has been recognized for its high production quality and depth — attracting major corporations like Subaru and AT&T, while also bringing critical honor and praise from organizations such as CNN, NPR, the 2008 Cannes and 2011 Sundance Film Festivals, and even the White House when they met President Obama in 2011!

In 2008 Wong Fu Productions met Chris Dinh and began working closely with him on a variety of projects for their channel.
