Meeting at Square One recognizes the ambitious works of the UC San Diego undergraduate Visual Arts community. These artists have very different art practices but they are all at the beginning of their careers. At this show we come together as a community to reflect on our beginnings and futures as UC San Diego undergraduates.

The opening reception will take place in Thursday May 5, 4:30- 7:30 pm. The Chair of the Visual Arts Department, Professor Greenstein will give an address at 5:00 pm.

The event "Beyond the Gallery" will take place at 4:00 pm on Friday May 6. Mary Beebe, the Director of the Stuart Collection, will be discussing her experiences in public art and a workshop will follow.

On Monday, May 9 at 5:00 pm there will be a round table discussion with the featured artists, UC San Diego Alumni and MFA students.

Adriene Hughes, the Managing Producer/Director of the Media Teaching Lab will be leading a workshop on Wednesday, May 11 at 2:00 pm about life in the Media Arts after graduation.

The closing reception will be held on Thursday, May 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. At 6:30 visitors can experience the interactive visual and sound installation Hidden Spaces by Geoffrey Palomino & Viktor De La Fuente.
