Rome Prize Competition Announces 2005 Awards

NEW YORK - The Rome Prize Competition awards for 2005-2006 have been announced. The winners are given the opportunity to pursue their work at the American Academy in Rome for up to 2 years. Each year, 15 emerging artists in the fields of visual arts, architecture, landscape architecture, design, historic preservation, literature, and musical composition are awarded. Winners in the visual arts are Boyce Cummings, a painter from New York; Yun-Fei Ji, an artist from Brooklyn; Carrie M. Weems, an artist from Syracuse and Ward Shelley, an artist from Brooklyn.
