Visual and performing arts converge at MCASD’s after-hours offering: Downtown at Sundown. MCASD galleries will offer exhibition tours at 5:30 and 6:45 PM. Xcerpts will meet to discuss various texts related to exhibitions on view at 6:30 and 7:30 PM, and a screening of Erick Msumanje’s film, Kibacha, will take place at 6:15 and 7:15 PM. Kibacha examines painful family histories and questions the colonial gaze on Black bodies and the African continent. The screening will be followed by a discussion.
