Adam Douglas Kamil


 

The Adam Douglas Kamil Student Media Prize is open to all UC San Diego enrolled students and consists of a $2,000 grand prize and two $1,000 finalist awards. All media submissions will be displayed for one week in the Adam D. Kamil Gallery within the Visual Arts Department. The gallery show will culminate with a recognition ceremony and reception. Winners will be announced at this time and will include a screening of the selected project. Application and Submission Requirements: All applications must be typed, complete, and be submitted by the application deadline. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. The following items are required for submission: 1. Create Film: Incorporating the theme ‘So, What’s Your Story?’ create a film that tells someone’s story – yours, a strangers, someone else who has an intriguing story told in a finished film that is no longer than 20 minutes in length. 2. Upload Film: Upload your completed film to a VIMEO Account. Your film needs to be publicly viewable and available to download. Artist will retain full copyright and download will be for viewing purposes within the Adam D. Kamily Gallery show and Recognition Ceremony. 3. Artist Statement: Provide a typed artist statement or biography, not to exceed 500 words. 4. Attend Recognition Ceremony: All applicants for the media award are expected to attend the awards reception on Friday, May 8.
