Hiring Salary Range: $2,478-$3,379/month

Full Salary Range: $2,478-$4,280/month

Description:

Provide programmatic and academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students on the departmental majors and minors. Primary contact for Advising office walk-ins. Assist students with quarterly registration. Duties also include, but are not limited to: internal quarterly schedule, textbook adoptions, coordination of faculty and course evaluation processes, and oversight of Mandeville Annex Gallery exhibitions.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in effective one-on-one counseling, advising, and listening in an academic setting. Ability to evaluate students' needs, and facilitate student decision making.
  • Knowledge of University and College general education requirements, policies and procedures, the college system, and affiliated departments and program requirements. Ability to interpret, recommend, and implement academic policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability in analyzing and evaluating student data and academic records.
  • Proven sensitivity to student and faculty needs and concerns; able to deal with stressful an unpleasant situations with composure and calm. Demonstrated ability to independently exercise sound and professional judgment to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Proven interpersonal skills to communicate clearly, effectively, tactfully, flexibly, and patiently on the phone, in person, and in writing to students, faculty, co-workers, campus administrators, and the public. Proven ability to handle confidential information/material in a discrete manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and follow through on assignments with attention to detail. Demonstrated skill to organize time, adjust priorities, and meet established deadlines while working with changing priorities and frequent interruptions. Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively in a highly computerized, high volume, team-oriented environment, exercising good judgment and creativity.
