Biography:

John Singletary is a visual artist and musician born near Chicago, Illinois. John earned his BFA in Fine Arts at Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2016, and is now in the MFA Visual Arts program at UC San Diego. In 2021, he had work exhibited on the cover of TIME magazine, and work included in MoMA PS1’s “Greater New York” exhibition. In the same year, he also had pieces exhibited in the Houston Museum of African-American Culture, and received the esteemed Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant. He was an Artist-In-Residence at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Artist guild in 2018 where he received a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. Today, John lives and works in San Diego, California.
