Biography:

Qiang Hu is a PhD Student in Art History, Theory and Criticism at the University of California San Diego. She graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU with a Master’s degree in History of Art and Archeology in 2023, and from Brandeis University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Philosophy. Her current research focuses on post-war Asian American and Asian diasporic art, with an interest in the use of vernacular objects in constructing works of art and the role of vernacular photography in narrating previously overviewed histories.
